Emeralds

Emeralds are quite rare in the game, and I think that's why a lot of people ask high prices for them. But when I looked on the minecraftwiki it suggested they aren't really expensive, like 5 beef per emerald or so.
What do you think is a fair price for an emerald? And will the server eventually buy emeralds, just like gold and lapis?

Well, it's all about how you see it. Emeralds are difficult to obtain... If minened. But they,re not rare since you can trade with villagers. Some villgaers will give you 1 emerals for 12 wheat, which is 4 pieces of bread, which in itself is very little. Due to theinbalance of emeral value, I do not believe an adequate price can be placed and the server shouldn,t buy them. as far as user prices go, that's a question of personal choice. You could sell diamonds for 1000 pxlz each, but nobody would buy them. Depends how you see the situation really.

problem is everyone sees them as highly valuable, some even sell em for like 100 pxlz each. its quite confusing would 10 pxlz each be a fair price?

well, for 10 pxlz I can guarantee you will sell a lot, but as far as fair trade, that's always up to you.

If you have some suggestions about emerald price, feel free to share them.

Making server buyout for emeralds would be good way to get money for everyone:
1)you can mine emeralds
2)you can farm emeralds
3)you can cut trees to get emeralds...
4)you can breed animals to get emeralds...
5)you can get emeralds by fishing

Thanks to villagers, you can get emeralds by selling them any stuff. Same cannot be told about diamonds or gold.

hmm of course id like to get easy money this way but it would inflate the economy... and everyone can earn money in the current system, if only they take their time to go mining

Okey so I've made a sign shop in the last row of the global market, with B 10:1 S for Emeralds. Lets see how much time it'll take to exhaust my supply

I've bought a few but i think 10 is a bit cheap, considering they are almost as rare as diamonds. I guess they aren't as useful thou so I would think maybe 30 or 50 is a good selling price.

Also, I've added a emerald section to the pawn shop, i buy them for 25 a piece if your looking to unload some, just don't sell me a ridiculous amount.
