Hi Kyborek
Just a few thoughts about the mining world. First of all i want to say, that ive had the greatest mining experiences in a long time. Not just because it was worth in ores, but also because exploring the massive caves (and getting lost in them ) is alot of fun. The first thing i noticed, was redstone ore clearly left behind and after a few minutes, i understood why: The redstone ores spawn in groups of over 20 per group, meaning that you can expect more than a stack each time you see some on the wall. I think that needs to be nerfed, or redstone will completely lose its value, which i think would be a bad thing. :/ Other than that, i dont have much to say. I dont know if its just me, but i've found allmost no gold, compared to the reasonable amount of diamonds i have found. :/ One of my concerns for this is that when the caves are explored, this will be like the free world, where people have to stripmine all over the place to find anything. I'm not saying the all the caves will be explored tomorrow, but it will happen eventually.
Huko
ps. Great idea that you can find glowstone, so you dont have to go to the glowstone-ripped Nether to find some.

dodo: Finding some reasonable approach for putting veins into chunks was very hard. I will consider you way of ore placement and i will see if it works well. Currently there is per-layer-in-chunk distribution, but per-chunk distribution could be good too, problem is... how many veins there should be in average chunk? nobody knows...
Laserhog:I just said the rules are different, nobody said that lowest layer should get you most ores. either you want diamonds or you want other stuff, you have to decide where you mine. If you cant find anything try going higher. However you say that you find small veins which i am really sorry about because you have bad luck. In overall the world was designed to make ores harder to find, but when you find them the veins should be bigger. For example you could find up to 10 diamonds in one vein. finding only two mean that they were in cave or its just bad luck. However if you like to change it, just tell me which ores you would like to find where?
Huko:I wouldnt really say that redstone was rare because it has only one use... usually ppl have tons of it and nobody uses it, so i wanted to make redstoner's life easier. But okay i will make the redstone veins a bit smaller. Fear not about caves being explored, as i said the big caves are nearly infinite and there is lots of other caves around to explore. When they all get explored we can refresh the world so fear not... But exploring and emptying this world will take at least 3x more time than before.
Thanks for all your suggestions

Well, about huko's point on redstone, I agree with Kyborek. I think it's so much better we can find alot. I use redstone, and will probably use enormous ammounts in the future, so it's a good thing for me it's easy to obtain.

Because people are actually trying to use x-ray we don't have choice :O
Apparently there was extra load on the server because of x-rayers and the anti x-ray plugin working overtime to hide everything.
