Well I have been playing on a 2007 mac and I am tired of playing on min. settings. I really want to showcase my stuff on youtube but my dell runs fraps with 4fps. Does anyone have a build that they get over 100 fps. My budget is $500 £398 in euro
or somewhere around that.

over 100 fps is very difficult to get unless you have a supercomputer. Aim for 50-60 fps, makes it look realistic enough. From your budget, i think it is better to upgrade your dell with more RAM and get a better graphics card. That should technically help.

if you are tight on cash go for a second hand build thats what i did
i only spent 500 euro
sell your laptop get some more money too
Youtube doesnt show more than 30 fps so you just need a pc that is stable at 30 fps while recording
My Specs !
- AMD Phenom(tm) 9850 Quad Core Processor
- 8 gb of Ram
- ATI Radeon HD 4850
-Logitech G330 Gaming Headset

for aproximatly 1000$ I could upgrade my computer to extents only dreamed of by some. To bad I don't have 1000$ to burn in 4 seconds...

For fraps its important to have two harddrives so you don't put all the pressure on a single one. It improves your framerate while recording drasticly.
