Hello.

I would like to make this post to point out the recent issues I have been experiencing with the server. There has been a lot of lag recently and sometimes it is even impossible to stay connected. also the server seems to crash a lot and experience large spans of down time. This has been pointed out by numerous players and I was hoping that this could be addressed in order to improve the playing experience for everyone on the server.

It crashes every other day US time,

Latency is terrible when logging on and teleporting, also makes a bad mining experiance.

This also seems to be linked with the rollback issue I posted about as that happened again after the crash.

It would be very nice if this was solved ASAP

Hard to solve what you can't find :/
I've told spoken to Heinz about this issue, and I've found some kind of cycle to the lag. Either a plugin that acts intensively every 15 to 20 minutes for a few minutes, or some unhappy shmuck is DDoSing the server, I guess he wasn't happy when his proxies where blacklisted. But I doubt the server's under any attack, just some error in a plugin or the anti-cray is having a fit.

Best course of action would be to turn off all plugins then turn them on 1 at a time to find the faulty one, although that is pretty innefficient and I doubt anybody has time for that.

Good times they were.

Most of the lag is from cheater and mob grinder!
When someone is flying with ultimate speed, the server lags.
When someone is bashing thousands of mobs, the server lags.

I have recently set some bandwidth limit to stop the speed hacker.
Its not sending that many packets to the client that he can properly cheat. (results in empty, not loaded chunks)
Actually its set on 240 kb/s by connection.
Remember that the server has only 10mbit upload soo.. 2mbit by connection is actually too much.
When 10 players would spawn into a new area, the server lags.

Also i have noticed that the server is crashing a lot.
Like dodo said already, its hard to solve that.

What about a plugin like no cheat that prevents hacking?

The lag is fixed (from what I can tell)

The chunks no longer take FOREVER to load and you dont have to wait 10 minutes before chat will go through. Then again it was just me on. But keep up the good work Heinz

A suggestion on the crashing maybe look at the log and see what failed before the server goes down, you will usally get some type of crash message.
