Project Zones

Hey guys, since there arent to much peeps playing lately most members that wish to start a town or any other projects got problems with finishing or just starting their projects.
My idea to fix this problem: Project Zones

We will vote for a theme or project here and search for a fitting area in the Artesion Empire.
Anyone who wants to help is able to join without leaving his actual town.
Once one of the project zone is finished we will start the next
and the old one can become an official town in case there are enough willing residents and a major.

Ive been setting a zone in a nice very plain grass biome at the North-West border of AE today,
this could become our first location.

Tons of towns but a huge lack of members?

Seems legit.

We keep creating new towns, I know, me and Gamer created Sub Montes, but maybe I am regretting that. There should not be any new towns until there are more members. Bart's empire itself was (In MY opinion) a bad decision.

Instead of creating tons of towns, we should make other projects and other unique stuff for the server. This is to make it so that more people join and actually stay.

We should have a town limit system that limits the amount of towns and removes the inactive ones. (Mapletown, HP-Empire, Crixville and what not).

I guess this may not belong here. But if we make things like these "project towns" it will just mean that more people will get towns, less active residents and eventually boredom and failure.

I guess I'll make a post like this somewhere else (Suggestions? Discussion?) later on.

EDIT: We get around 4-8 people on the server daily. Usually Bart is one of them and some other very active one's... Yet we have like +10 towns?

Well i call it "project zones" then and we include ideas like arenas or other projects...
Fact: There isnt even a single active town ( beside Khorinis ofc! ;P ).
most peeps want to start their own projects instead of helping to rebuild old, finished or propably messed up towns and i guess and most mayors arent motivated to finish their projects either.
Thats why i want to start this new system:
One official project, who wants to help is allowed to, who doesnt is still able to build on in the old towns, member areas and the guest world.
In case one project is finished we can discuss about the next one.
This way we stop to waste our chunks for unfinished projects ( sub montes, terra nova )
and keep the gmap clean.
Removing the old towns is a waste of time and disrespectful in my opinion because i want to respect the work that was done on them and they dont cause any problems.

PS: This isnt supposed to be a town-creating-machine.
Its supposed to be a project-to-work-on-together-instead-of-leaving-bored-or-frustrated-creating-machine.
As i said, a Project "Zone" wont guarantee an official town once its finished,
there are still requirements as we had before.

Hey all,

I have not been active lately because got caught into this awesome modpack called Agrarian skies available on the FTB launcher, definitely recommandable ;)

But i ilke the idea of a project zone, or rather a place where everyone can build together instead of being spread out over thousands of blocks and never see each others builds and ideas.
I am probably a bad example for this with my lonely island but now that it is (almost) finished, i can move on, it will provide any ressources needed. Which is the main point of this snowy island.

Although i like this idea,i will still come back to an old idea: a reset of the map.
Now that there are few active players, having this huge, already used and shaped map might be not so motivating.
I understand your point Bart regarding the respect payed to older players for the time and effort put into their builds. But i think this is how things go, time change, they moved on and stopped playing or come very seldom on the server to disappear just as quickly. Moving on on our side won't hurt their feeling too badly i think and might also attract other new players.
For this new map, their is no need to make a big setup until more active players are back on board. And then your idea of a project zone should definitely be kept for all the players to participate in, therefore, smaller map, closer community and work together.
A new map will also implement new world generation into the landscape with new biomes and all, which is also a good change to bring into a new project zone.

Again that is just an idea. I would be very sad to leave the mooshroom island, trust me. But one of the project could be to reproduce something alike to provide good resources to the server (food, slims, animals, mob drops, iron...)

Anyway i will join in to see you online ;)

Now this is an idea, but I don't think there will ever be a reset.
Perhaps a new world or something similar, or just start advertising on these hunderds of server lists might help you know :p

Planet Minecraft Has a bumping system, new poeple can come online daily if you bump the post daily. I would do it myself, but I am not having much time to do anyhting tbh.

Advertise! Don't expect players to just come on!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we're only listed on Minestatus and have a youtube channel that doesn't really have any posts. We aren't listed on Minecraft forums, Planet minecraft, Minecraft server list and so many others... Those are big lists that would definately make more people come online!

The new world could be something special and unique, like the mining world but with a specific purpose...
The server is dying Heinz... We and mostly you should do something about it before it becomes empty :(.

We all know there wont be a map-reset.
Im offering this area because its nearly undeveloped and at least and area most guys never built there bevore.
I guess yoiu guys a free to advertise btw.

Back to topic:
Ill suggest a capture arena as project, due to the /cp plugin and some redstone (tryzzo<3) we are finally able to actually play them.
Any ideas for a theme or maybe even other suggestions?^^
