Me and heinz briefly chatted about linking my server and hp-minecraft together

i personally love this idea!

bacically me and my freind Thejubro are the admins of a roleplaying server called velban and we are looking to create a small company (or orginization) where there are servers which a player can log onto.

The way i think we should link servers is having portals from the cetral staion to the [what ever our orginizations called] station there, there will be portals to velban and hp

Let me just make it clear that i am NOT advertizing my server as it has only started its not got much there. THIS SERVER IS THE BEST

Yeah, when the central station is ready, and when we have tested a nice
plugin to link servers, we can start thinking of that.
(I said that ingame too.)

heinz just ask me if you want to see our server beucase im not gonna say the ip over the fourms (just in case)

We need an orginization name and mabye a website to go with it (which i will make )

ones im thinking of are

Minecraft World

or

Minecraft Universe

or mabye some more role play names

But we have a website??

If you are talking about making a free website like with free webs that sucks....

I hate adverts and I think so do many others.

well i use piczo which has like 1 ad and thats it

besides this is for both servers as a group

Hmm atm i cant really see why a second server is needed?

Maybe to link with the classicServer, cause that one is always full, but why with the survival?

i havent seen it completly full yet?!
also u have a really nice support on our server so why to make a new one by urself?

i think the /give thing maybe is nice.... but not needed... and at least:
did u realized how playing minecraft is for HeinzPeter?

Dont think its really much fun, cause all the time ppl ask him to do stuff for em.

Btw: do u have a Dyn- or staticIp? think without it would be a problem to link the servers.

I agree with ReD. Unless you can be there most of the day to sort and fix things I don't think it's a good idea.

A server takes a lot of upkeep and attention, especially ours with many members.

Heinz does a great job keeping the server a great server with testing and sorting out issues with plugins ect.
You would need at least as good of a connection as Heinz which doesn't mean having wireless, for the best result in needs to be a direct connection.

You also need hardware and plenty of it, that doesn't mean running a server off your pc/laptop it will have to be on very powerful pc or a separate one to what you use daily. It's because of the traffic we get and the ranks, inventories, towns....

There's so much to think about I don't think you know....

With the website it really isn't a good idea because I don't think many people will use or go onto it. Even without ads or just a few you still have to think about the bandwidth limit that comes with a free host.

We have 24/7 staff working on our server as i type this.

We also have Npc's on our server

You say 24/7 staff well just keep your server how it is...


I don't think the servers need to link as it would just cause more problems than needed.

There's nothing wrong with our site/forum/server, if you want to make your own then go ahead.

I don't think it would ever stand up to how hpminecraft is. If you produce a free website then don't expect people from hpminecraft to go on it.

We have our site and it's awesome, making a free website takes no effort and usually gets no attention.

If you have your server with 24 hour staff then put the effort in to promote your server, not by linking with ours. Unless you have your own server and have the knowledge to run one then I don't think this should even be discussed.
