my suggestion is that you should get the skd mod
in this mod if you have gold and you place it in your crafting bench i will make coins i think this will be very useful for buying things in shops
also there are guns scuba gear etc its very usful

This would only work on singleplayer, it's a mod not a plugin.

Actually, there is a multiplayer version. The problem is that guns are kind of pointless
in Minecraft and it conflicts with Bukkit...
