Passive xray detectiong method!
So recently it has been noted there is a very unhealthy amount of lag on the server. This lag was due to the anti-xray. I just came across a plugin that passively permits the detection of xray hacks. Please take the time to read up on the plugin before dismissing it. The concept is fairly simple and (if you think you can, have the time and want to) you COULD always re-create it in HPMcore.

Yes! When I'm mining, sometimes the anti-xray will play tricks on me and i will have to keep hitting the block to see the true block.

I stop reading after '[...] and notifies admins if anything [...]'.
This idea needs someone to get notices. You cannot check it in any automated process.
Of course you cannot calculate luck... But thanks for the suggestion.
Even using the log file takes a lot of time by operators and nobody is willing to keep an eye on it.

well you could always assign active players/ops to receive like a link to an automated log file which can be posted on like a "possible X-Rayers" thread to be checked by an admin. or introduce a kind of mail system into HPM-Core so you could recieve "mail" while you are offline and check when your are online

I'd be happy to look at X-ray logs and investigate

Re: Passive xray detectiong method!
The mod would take a lot of thorough testing however, to understand ratios better, or else the logs would be entirely useless. From that point, you can determine what ratio is suspicious, so that a warning appears, and what ratio ends in an instant ban. I mean, like a 250:1 ratio of stone:diamond is quite suspicious to me, but that really needs testing. And although bypassing the xray *could* be done, it would mean mining a legit ammount of stone before mining the ore, which defeats the purpose of xray hacks.

Re: Passive xray detectiong method!
it depends you could find a ravine where there is diamond right on the surface or a cave with the same thing

True, but what are the odds that you will find over 5 diamond ore? And a fortune pick plays no odds, since it calculates the ammount of ores. I don't recall whether or not it show the ammount of ores found alongside the ratio, but it calculates of a period of several days. As well,

Re: Passive xray detectiong method!
Too bad you can't make like moderators that can do a command like"/hide" and just watch someone who causes suspicion. usually players that x-ray will stop and look all around to find the ore that they desire
