Old towns? new flintwood, minetown and poss arucnia

Whilst exploring around where my old houses where I came near these towns, and when walking past these towns especially Minetown they are ghost towns and even an eyesore the deserted streets of these towns are now just a place for mobs to live and I was wondering is there a reason for them being left there? is it for the history?

If they are just being left there for no reason, why dont you consider these ideas for the areas:

.re-opening with new mayors
.flataning for new towns in the mercatorinos nation
.just adding more light especially to minetown
.adding easier accesibillity so can be used as a museum
.make into something that can be used globaly e.g mob trap/theme park(rollercoaster land)
