How to make your own private minecraft server

hey guys

today im gonna tell you how to make your own minecraft server

NOTE: theis does not inculde the port forwading witch will make your server public you can find lots of videos on how to do port forwading on youtube


ok so first you will need these suggested items

1. a hard drive: this will help your server run faster but if you have lots of space on your computer this isnt nessasary.

2. you will need the time to install plugins to your server.


ok so now you will need to get the software

1. make a folder on your desktop or anywhere really, this is where you will put your erver files

2. next go to http://wiki.bukkit.org/Setting_up_a_server" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and follow the instuctions

3. click the RUN.bat file youve just made and let it create the files it needs to create


Customizing your server

you will see a file called server.properties, open this with notepad and you will see a buch of options, basically the ones with true infront of them are enabled the ones with false arnet.

When making a tutorial I suggest pictures because they're so much easier to follow.

It's just a tip as iv'e noticed a lot of people have trouble following the 'SIGN IN' section.

Also who needs other servers when hpcraft is the best?



Oh and I forgot RAM is the most important in making a server.

You also need a good connection otherwise it cannot hold that many players.
