After the knowledge that gamerpigeon got banned, i feel kind of saddened. First, it was actually a mod that caused it to happen. Second, he was an awesome guy who helped me in my first few days in the server.
Then (technically now), i thought of an idea. it is something like the way when you speed hack (i dont speed hack) or something, you disconnect. If this was implemented to other 'crimes' like spawning items when you are not allowed, it would prevent some 'accidental' crimes due to modding.
Next suggestion also to reduce the amount of crime done is to specify a crime. Ive been reading the rules for fun about Pigeon's charge and i saw it in the rules. Cheating in any way result in pernament ban.
this rule, in my opinion, need to be specified like no using fly mod etc.
ps. Is splaterring a mountain ( nature griefing) considered a crime?
pps. oh yea and what is the jail for when there is the ban hammer?

But I still think "accidental crimes" represent the large minority. Just my opinion.

Definition of cheating: Act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, esp. in a game or examinationI
I think that is clear enough. When you download a flymod and you've also read the server rules you have to realize the consequences of using it.
ps. Is splaterring a mountain ( nature griefing) considered a crime? If you don't have permission from the local mayor, yes. But since we can rollback any player the griefer can't cause any damage.
pps. oh yea and what is the jail for when there is the ban hammer? You are right, I think we could use it more often.

Re: 'crime warning'
Thanks for the reply.
First, by mod, i mean game modification (in this case, too many items) and also in my opinion, i do not think of him as someone who breaks rules.
Second, i may have to agree with you that it is clear for most of us, but still, some people (no offence but usually newbies) may not be able to understand the no cheating rule.

I use too many items. You can only use it if you are an op or above. It is useful for singleplayer, though.
EDIT:I don't use it on the server

Re: 'crime warning'
I think it's time for CRIME-CITY!!
A small town somewhere in the underground..?
.. where jailed persons can kill their self!
They can build in it but they cannot escape.
More suggestions are welcome.
Mayors should be able to jail players! Not?

Re: 'crime warning'
Its definitley a good idea since mayors are trusted and there isnt always a mod online. But on the other hand we would need restrictions, that if a mayor jails someone for absolutley no reason gets one warning and if he does it again he loses his mayor status. Just and idea...

Re: 'crime warning'
or how about a vote system like thing for crime city? but only a mayor could initiate the vote whether or not to lock someone in the crime city. just a suggestion.

Re: 'crime warning'
Crime city does seem like a great idea, could be easily built and sealed. I also think that Lenni's idea for mayors being able to jail is a very good idea as well. Instead of having a slight panic looking for someone who can jail them while credibility disintegrates slowly as time passes and stories change, a mayor (or trusted) can react quickly and jail the person before any further damage is done to person or property. Could be used as a great way to give one warning for the smaller offences, while also as a great holding place to wait until further punishment can be delivered justly. I take great pride in helping punish, and prevent, rule breaking (especially griefing and stealing) in any way possible; which is why I work so hard in magenta, in order to make it the town with the lowest (and hopefully nonexistent) crime rate on the server.
A new post on the board!?! *Squeals like a schoolgirl*
